The Junior Varsity is a progressive indie band from Central IL.
From the ashes of defunct bands Fallen Star and Winner Takes All comes The Junior Varsity. The Junior Varsity is not your average band, if by average band I mean a group of rockstars with too much ego and not enough passion. The Junior Varsity is melodic while remaining technical. They are emotional without becoming cliche...they are cliche without becoming political. Oh wait, being political is cliche. Either way. The Junior Varsity emits a genuine, youthful energy tried by many but matched by few. While still a young band, The Junior Varsity is experienced and knowledgeable. They have embarked on numerous tours, and look forward to plastering the entire nation in the coming year. In their year and a half of existence, they caught the eye of British Records out of Chicago, IL who decided to make The Junior Varsity their first band. After tracking 11 songs with Lance Reynolds at Dam Recording, "The Great Compromise" became the first release for both British Records and The Junior Varsity. With this album in hand, The Junior Varsity looks forward to turning heads all over the globe. Asa Dawson: Bass/Lead Vocals Andy Wildrick: Guitar Sergio Coronado: Guitar/Backing vocals Tony Peck: Drums Nick Dodson: Synth
