Prometheus was formed in 2007 in Lexington, Kentucky, as a way of surpassing modern mainstream music as it exists today. The experimental rock group itself consists of four intelligent musiciansâ”Ryan Weeks (vocals, guitar, synth/keys), Chris Wheeler (guitar, vocals, sfx, synth), Cole Wade (bass, samplings), and John Hannon (drums)â”who insist upon making songwriting an extremely tedious and difficult process. The end result is a collection of songs and/or concepts which make the music timeless to both the listener and the players. Major influences include, but are in no way limited to: Radiohead, The Mars Volta, Porcupine Tree, Modest Mouse, Tool, The Flaming Lips, Muse, space travel, world destruction at the hands of man, the evolution of species, the uni/multiverse, quantum theory, polyphony, memes, the natural sciences, and humanity. Prometheus recently released their debut EP âInto the Bright White Lightsâ; 6 tracks of genre-bending rock. They are currently working on the production of their first full length CD of imaginative and âœpsychedelic, progressive rock that has earned them a steady following around the region!â The album will include a selection of diverse, complex, and thought provoking songs such as Seven Numbers, When I Tried to Save the World, and Easier Than Taking the Time. The album is to be an auditory voyage through the depths of the human psyche, during its varying stages of disturbances, feelings of isolation, paranoia, hope, enlightenment, fear, contempt, and awe.

Lyrics
I once knew a man, Peddled fairy tales across the land, Spewing putridities and tales of before the fall, His dissenters he condemned them all. He looked to the sky, Should have known, He was mistaken, Praying for fairer weather. I once knew a girl, She thought she ruled the whole world, Those who didn't heed her beck and her every beck and call, Well she consumed them all. She looked to herself, Should have known better, She was mistaken, Pushing her fairer weather. I once knew a child, Grew up in a world so hostile, I once knew a child, I once knew a child.
