Story behind the song
There are millions of photos of the attacks of Sept 11. Only a few Photographers can ever explain their feelings while covering the first 48 hours from inside ground zero. One such photographer realizes that he is overwhelmed with the enormity and just wishes he could go home.
Lyrics
CALL YOU Take me, hold me in your arms tonight And tell me that you love me Wish upon a star tonight and Say goodbye in the morning   I’ll be packing up my gear And head to New York City It’s a lovely time of year I’ll call you when I get there   CHORUS I’ll call you when I get there Call you when I get there I’ll call you when I get there Call you when I get there   Call you when I get in a room It’ll be real soon Cause I was picked To photograph the scène I’ll have my pictures on the cover of magazines The assignment of a lifetime, do you know what I mean   Baby, I’m so glad to hear your voice I’m okay but it’s crazy I wish that I was home with you I’ve seen enough already   The camera can’t express the things I’m feeling, my heart is burning It’ll be a few more days I’ll call when I get there CHORUS I’ll call you when I get there Call you when I get there I’ll call you when I get there Call you when I get there   Call you when I get in a room It’ll be real soon Cause I was picked To photograph the scene I’ll have my pictures on the cover of magazines The assignment of a lifetime, do you know what I mean
