Singer/songwriter, Indie self-recorded: Wm Perry writes & performs tight, well-crafted songs. Honest & not boring, sometimes disturbing, with jangled-y edges. T
"I approach the writing of songs as if it's the only tool I have, with which to do something I don't understand." BIOGRAPHY: Failed. Kept moving. Your typical starving artist story. BFA from the Art Institute of Chicago, followed by several years in the Sign Industry. Front man in a multitude of short-lived bands, playing in clubs and warehouses in Chicago and LA's artsy, marginal war-zone neighborhoods. Now solo artist, self-recording. Bought a cheap, old house on Craig's List (without seeing it first!) and moved from Chicago to Cincinnati, an "economic refugee" you could say. Now completing renovations that make four floors of combined living/studio space and working on new music.

Lyrics
Life During Some Other Time - William McGuffey Perry Watched the moon rise over hotel Right about dead noon I could tell that things seemed better That won't be better soon As the list of wrong things grows The little memories come I can't tell what's more promising Acting stupid or going numb Haven't seen a bird around here Since the last one fell No sign of escape route since The disappearance of you-know-who You said you'd be back with men and weapons And money to buy food Count the heads, look around We're here alone me and you I know the law of falling bodies Dictates something sure But there must be laws I've never heard of That count around here more There's no address that you can send to No number you can call No helpful stranger to befriend you No one to jack up at all This is the shadow of a burning building But the heat makes it hard to see It might just be the dawn returning All lit up like a Christmas tree Creature, creature, see the creature Know it by its name Look into its friendly features Meet thou it again Burning feathers and R-connectors Nervous fingers lose Message sent, message received Lots of luck to you
