Story behind the song
Sequoia and Kavin schooling me in firefighter terminology, so I wrote a song incorporating "Prescribed Burns".

i was sitting near a table
waiting by the doctor's door
trying to solve the puzzled pieces
in this scenic view
and that's when my thoughts lingered to you
though she sets me afire
and then ignited the underbrush
her prescribed burns show that i'm still alive
cause i will survive
he said,
"well you've tamed monsters so you're free to go"
even though i'm still afraid of what's hidden deep inside
that sometimes it's hard to just live my life?
no weapon nor armor when i left
no instructions to fight the demons within this celled heart,
but birds can still walk
when their wings have been clipped
so it's time i relearn how to live my life
strike a match
incinerate the beast
rinse the cycle
and then repeat
