Story behind the song
It just basically started with the idea of some guy who see's this girl everyday while he's waiting at the bus stop,tube station,cafe or where ever. Although he's attracted to this girl and want's to ask her out,she is unaware he even exists,so at this point he is filled with doubt and hesitation.What if she has a boyfriend/husband,what if she rejects him etc. and so far he hasn't plucked up the courage to ask her. Also there is the fear that he might miss his chance if he waits too long. We made a deliberate decision to repeat the third verse rather than include another verse revealing the outcome,so where the song leaves off,it is up to the listener to take the story and decide how it ends. Funnily enough after the recording and mixing were finished Gary asked if I had ever been in a similar situation (I had to admit I had ) to which he replied so had he,though I don't think either of us were drawing on that (at least not consciencely) at the time of writing it,but yea,we've been there :) Hope you like it Steve
