A song from Albertropolis with 'Steamwave' noises, clanky rhythm guitar, slightly psychedelic flourishes, a nice mellow middle section and one of my favourite guitar solos to date, which was played on a very basic Yamaha Pacifica !

Artist picture
Big Sleep is the name of the imaginary 'band/group, that all the music I create with my friend and musical collaborator, Tony Webster goes under. Tony is pictured on the right in the photo; me on the left in the dark blue suit. Tony is an artist / illustrator, writer of lyrics and stories, song arranger and a mine of information on any subject under the sun . . . I (David A Briggs) play all the instruments (mostly of the stringed variety), perform all the studio 'jiggery-pokery', sing and dabble a little in the visual arts.

Very nice work on this, David and Tony. It reminds me of some of the psychedelic british stuff form the early 70's, but you definitely have your very own and very distinct sound. I love the guitar work, it is so well adjusted to the song and the solo is absolutely brilliant. This is a true gem among your many great songs!

Hi David! good that you mentioned this one on the clickers player. A nice work, I partially agree with Michael D. and Bill about Syd, in my opinion only a " small echo".... great composition, with much creativity, original iintro with that organ and clever arranged vocals part, but what impressed me the most was the guitar lead part, really good! :) Well done Big Sleep!

I do hear a distant echo of Syd and early Floyd, but it takes off from there and gets quite theatrical and rock operatic.. Very cool changes and solo David :)
The Beatles if fronted by Syd Barrett? Not quite, but yeah I like it.
