Pierce Bratton has been in the music business since he was 5 years old. His first "gig" was at his sisters grade school talent show where he & his little white plastic ukulele imitated the "king", Elvis Presley's You Aint Nothin But A Hound Dog & won first place. He started playing professionally at age 11 where his band played the vintage surf music at the time with songs such as Wipeout, Pipeline & groups like The Ventures & The Beach Boys, graduating to the soul days playing all the hits of the soul music scene. Artists like Sam & Dave, James Brown, Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett, etc. His first break was in the '70s where he & the band SweetToothe cut an album in Nashville called "Testing". The producers called them the kings of "acid country", Ha! In ' 81 his band Tricks, cut an album called "Turn A Trick" & recieved a good amount of airplay on the East coast & Midwest. He also won the peoples choice award of Best Bass Player in Va. Beach, Va. which put him in great demand of musicians from Maine to Florida. In 2000 he finally put together his first solo album of rock & country tunes that had "been in my head for a LONG time". He has worked with various artists ranging from The Dixie Dregs to Delbert McClinton. After doing a demo in 1997 at Nashville Tenn. with the band Cherokee from Newport News, Va., who, by the way, has done performances at the Ryman Auditorium, he worked there being a session player from then to today. With all of these credits under his belt, his material is most definitely worth giving a listen to, so kick back & take a spin on some of the finest rock & country that has ever been put on vinyl....er, CDs, Ha!
