We are the trans-Atlantic alliance of Bob Kingdon, from England and Eric Daum from New England. We are a virtual band inspired by the music of Bill Nelson, Power Pop and girls in short skirts and tight shirts. Bob handles the guitars, Eric, the keyboards, loops and programming as well as dabbling with his ancient Rickenbacker on a few songs. Both Bob and Eric sing and share songwriting. In addition, we sometimes set the poems of Carole Young, a Scottish poet to music.

Story behind the song
Bob and I have enjoyed working together for the past two years. Though we have never met, we share many things, taste in music, childish humor (or is that "Humour"? and we both have wives who say they cannot stand our music. Upon playing this heartfelt song for my wife, which was inspired by our 22 years together, 20 of them married, I was told, "I don't like it, and I can't stand the way you sing." Now I cannot stand the way I sing either, but having the object of your love tell you that the expression of that love is "annoying" is , well, a tad deflating to say the least. Dear, listener, I hope you like it better than she did. -Eric 13 May 2010
Lyrics
Nocturne Eric Daum 2010 When the Snow begins to Fall And the world has gone to sleep In the silence and the wonder of it all I weigh my memories against the secrets that you keep When the night begins to wail Sitting by the fire's glow The shadows grow as the light begins to fail Thinking back on the life I'll never know And the first time that I met you there was no way to see That the memories that we'd share would mean so much more to me I watch you dressing by the window Your silhouette in silk and lace The familiar comfort of each gesture that make Your distant gaze with that little smile upon your face Curled around you half asleep Huddled in our winter bed I never dreamed that I'd fall for you this deep I'm drifting off to the last thing that you've said And the first time that I met you There was no way to know That the memories that we'd share Would grow...and grow. And the first time that I met you there was no way to see That the memories that we'd share would mean everything to me The way you close your eyes When at last we're all alone In your arms I finally realize It's not too much to dream that I'm finally home It's taken all these years To come to terms with what I knew No one else could brush away my fears If I must grow old let it be with you And the first time that I met you there was no way to know That the memories that we'd share would grow...and grow

at times i loved the vocal passionately (when it was bryan ferry-ish)and at others not so much (when it was more lounge singer-ish) but the song is brilliant and the lyric wonderfully warm and tender...top chops and all round great!!
