Lyrics
When Did We Forget? Lyrics by shamanserpent7 There was a time when we'd take a Brother's hand; When we'd give all we had to lift the ones who fall. There was a time when hunger was met with a meal. Thirst was given a drink and no one would ever think of what it will cost. We'd all look up at the Heavens and be grateful for what we were given. Oh when did we forget? Why don't we regret the tears we don't wipe away, the lost times we didn't say what was in our hearts? Oh when did we forget? Why don't we regret the lives lost to no reason? The children no longer play in the streets, ridden with blood and bullets for the color of clothing's sake, for the parents' fear that the next morning they would not wake. Teachers fear the schools where education is their task for thirsty minds to reach out to there is a definate lack. When did we forget? Why don't we regret the babies that are dead from the bullets that were sent for someone else? God help us. Will we never wake? Oh when did we forget? Why don't we regret the tears we don't wipe away, the lost times we didn't say what was in our hearts? God help us. Will we never wake?
