Story behind the song
This song was a collaboration between my Uncle Mike Pfeifer, my dad, and me. My Uncle Mike wrote the words as a poem, and my dad and me put his poem to music. It's been a fun collaboration and we will be doing more soon.
Lyrics
draggin' my lifeboat up on a beach feel like i've been shipwrecked watchin' my crewmates sail cross the sea feel like i've been shipwrecked they threw me a lifeline I was too slow to reach hope they can laugh when they think about me wondering why they left me under this tree feel like I've been shipwrecked coconuts fish and some shade from a palm feel like i've been shipwrecked I'll survive while I can as the world carries on feel like i've been shipwrecked at the end we'll meet up in a plentiful port where the tools of our trade are a knife and a fork where the glasses stay full and the bottles un-corked we'll think back on being shipwrecked
