Mistah Tommy, born and raised in Fort Worth, TX is one of the most promising rappers coming out of Texas. He always had a huge love for music. He can recall writing songs as early as age 11. "I had pages and pages of songs" he says. "I don't know what happeend to them but I wish I could find them now and read over them and mabye record one." He contunied writing and dreaming for the next few years. In the year 2000 he recording his first track. "It was just a one verse flow but it still felt good" he recalls. He continued recording tracks for underground cd's distributed throughout his hometown of Fort Worth, TX and surrounding cities and he quickly became a hometown favorite. At the same time all this was going on he was also setting the internet scene on fire by uploading his tracks and promoting himself. "Everyone would download my songs from various sites and keep hitting me up asking when the next track is going up. It was crazy." In no time at all he was name was blowing up in cities all over. He even recieved recognition by Houston rapper Chamillionaire by winning a rap contest hosted and voted on by Chamillionaire and other members of the Color Changin Click. Antoher local Houston artist, Mike Jones, heard about him also by his buzz on the internet. Mike Jones asked him to come record a few tracks for a cd he was putting out with his label, Ice Age Entertainment. Not to long after that a DJ that was setting the mixtape game on fire at the time, DJ Yellaboy, came to him and told him of a group / record label that he was forming called Street Pharamcy. At that time Mistah Tommy became the first member of Street Pharamacy. In no time at all he had people chanting "Street Pharmacy" as he did in his song "G Related" the title track of the Street Pharmacy cd release "G Related." He has been on numerous cd's and on tracks with many artists such as Paul Wall, Slim Thug, Lil Keke, Lucky Luciano, Chalie Boy, DSR, and many more. For the next year and a half he continued to put Street Pharmacy on the map and make name for himself. In 2004 he met and married the love of his life, Monica. In 2005 they had a son together. In light of his new family and various other reasons Mistah Tommy retired from the rap game.... *UPDATE* 2006 - Mistah Tommy is coming back! He recently invited me to the studio for an interview. We talked and I heard some of his new material and believe me he has not lost a step....if you can belive it, he is even hotter! The interview will appear in next months issue. Be sure to pick it up!
