Musically, a melancholy feel with a slightly industrial beat. Lyrically, it's a tale of betrayal and love lost, by someone who never desevered the chance in the first place.

Artist picture
Electronic experimental darkwave synthpop - sometimes dark, sometimes dance, sometimes something else.
Sort of Erasure / New Order (musically) but with female vocals - ranging from sweet to angry. Best described as darkwave/synthpop with a twisted lyrical edge. The music of NURVIS combines 80's and 90's influences with contemporary electronic styles. In other words, NURVIS try to embrace those things from the past that got them into music, yet incorporate new sounds and new ideas to create something original and timely.

Story behind the song
This was one of the early NURVIS tracks. Susan chose the music as a platform to tell the personal story of a painful breakup. Singing and spoken word lyrics get the point across.
Lyrics
I used to make you happy, remember me? You said I'll never hurt you, remember me? You know you kept me a dirty little secret - Shhh! Don't tell anyone Tossed me out and had your fun What a bad, bad boy is Yogi's son mean rotten little boy So, you're losing weight and working out So easy now to toss me out I'm not the enemy I was your friend to please I'm not the enemy I was your friend to tease I was your friend, truly loved you for you I was your friend, not some dumb chick to screw I was your friend, but now I hate you... because I hate me - giving myself to you How can you take us so lightly? You left so quietly Came on like a roar, out with a whimper So happy to leave, no time to grieve, you got a reprieve from caring or needing me You know you kept me a dirty little secret I'm not the enemy I was your friend to please I'm not the enemy Remember me? Don't know why I was savin', but I did Don't know what I was savin', but I was Don't know why all you gave was a loving illusion, total confusion Door missed your ass on your way out Couldn't get out fast enough, could you? Held you off but you felt punished Tossed and spat me out like left over garbage Little man couldn't handle real love Little boy ain't no grownup Little child, ain't no dove Little kid don't know what you've done, what you've done to me Think you're funny? Well, I'm not laughing Never never never again can we be more than friends You mean like enemies? Pretty please let's add you to the mix of the dicks who got their kicks at my expense Instant gratification or infant justification? Your lack of maturity is showing Impatient and growing And all the pretty young girls, in the bars and on the street Oh the temptations, the frustrations Can't he have his cake and eat it too? And you, and you, and her too?
