Artist picture
Electronic experimental darkwave synthpop - sometimes dark, sometimes dance, sometimes something else.
Sort of Erasure / New Order (musically) but with female vocals - ranging from sweet to angry. Best described as darkwave/synthpop with a twisted lyrical edge. The music of NURVIS combines 80's and 90's influences with contemporary electronic styles. In other words, NURVIS try to embrace those things from the past that got them into music, yet incorporate new sounds and new ideas to create something original and timely.

Story behind the song
The music was written, and to me, it was just an unfinished darkwave-esque idea. Susan took what I had, and wrote the lyrics based on the unfinished arrangement I had given her. After that, I made a few minor changes to the structure of the song, and we were done. This song was featured on the Spiderbite Studios compilation "This Human Disease".
Lyrics
Do you hear him say, do you hear him beg, do you see him stare? Do you hear him beg, did you see him steal, have you seen their faces? Have you seen him cry, do you hear him beg, have you seen him in the jail? Have you ever wanted to become all the things you can't believe? Have you ever wanted to become all the things you meant to be? Can you understand all the things that I say? Can you understand? Can you be the one? If you ever look into his eyes at the terror His face will haunt you when you're all alone He will run away, he will find a way, to find you asleep in your little dollhouse, your little dollhouse, with Barbie and Ken, both will be home You run away and run away you run so fast You run away to hide away from your past You run away, you run so fast away... Mommy sings a little lullabye, Daddy reads a little book Uncle's in the laundry room, little sister's getting shook Nobody is watching 'cause we're tied up on the floor Nobody is kneeling now that Daddy is a whore Anyone can see that this is a happy family Anyone would know that hell was made for you and me... Can you understand all the things that I say? Can you understand? Can you be the one? If you ever look into his eyes at the terror His face will haunt you when you're all alone He will run away, he will find a way, to find you asleep in your little dollhouse, your little dollhouse, with Barbie and Ken, both will be home You run away...
