Ambient electronic music for guitars and synthesizers.
Sleep Distance is my ambient/electronic music project. I am a guitarist, and I like incorporating synths and ambient guitar sounds in my music. I also very much enjoy Michael Manring's fretless bass pieces, and so I play some fretless bass in a few of my compositions. Some of my pieces are a little more composed, others are largely improvised.

Story behind the song
You know it's a good weekend when you not only have time to record a couple of tracks on your prog rock project, but you can take part of a sunny Sunday afternoon to write and record and ambient guitar piece paying homage to two favorite and very unique guitar players. New version uploaded May 2, with the slop in the bass tack fixed, and Vanguard and PPG synth sounds added!

You never cease to amaze me...beautiful song. Should have listened to it earlier today...I would have felt better! Electric starts off sounding like a violin. Cool. Nice work, once again, Rob. Well on your way to that CD. 5/5/10 -- new and improved version...way to go. Didn't think it could sound better, but it does.
