UNIVERSAL VOL.2 (Track 11)-Wrote this one some time back and used the opportunity for another mixtape to put this one on. I tend to get some good feedback for this one. This song really sums up my thoughts about wanting to have money
I am Prime-One,a.k.a Vincent Van Flow,16-Bar Assassin,The Vanilla Thrilla, amongst other handles. I've been writing rap songs off-and-on since 1987. I prefer to think of myself as a lyricist as opposed to being a rapper because there is a difference. Anyone can be a rapper...it takes pure skill to be a lyricist. I'm never content with where I'm at on a lyrical level and I keep pushing myself forward and stepping up my game. I got a lot of different styles and I drop all types of different shit so you never know what I'm going to come out with next.
Lyrics
(1st verse)
I got money on my mind,f*** the world,I'm on the grind
To take what's rightfully mine,the good life,24-karat
Gold so lustrous,I'd shine like neon signs
In Vegas at nighttime, visions of placin'
My status at a level well beyond the poverty line
Biggie said the sky's the limit,I'm itchin' to climb
The projects epitomize struggle and hard times
Drugs and crime, hard ball and hard lines
Feelin' like a quarterback at the one-yard line
Tryin' to drive my team downfield,it's first and 99
Life is a game, son, some win and some lose
I've been defeated,knocked down,I've paid my dues
The fate I'd choose is the thrill of victory
Gettin' rich, poppin' Cris while my trues take a sip to me
And give back to those who'd give to me
Flip the middle finger at those who've caused me misery
See,my existence is full of simplicity
But I picture me in a six-four Impala vividly
Rappin' 'bout havin' dough like Jay-Z,watchin'
My profit margin enlargen like crazy
Cash rules everything around,it makes the
Globe spin and a lot of drama go down
People shoot and kill for evil's root, but what's money
To one who hungers to seize a loot,I'll tell ya
(Chorus)
Money buys freedom,mobility,and luxury
Money means Windsor Housing can no longer f*** with me
Money equals gettin' what I want out of life
And not what others see fit or as right
(2nd verse)
I want to play Monopoly with real property
Say that Park Place and Boardwalk's mine,I got the deed
Ride in Hot Wheels,actual size,require a ten
Car garage to park all the rides
Catchin' gold diggers eyes, flash cash at 'em
They'd want to get with me,I'd be like "peace" and laugh at 'em
The big crib with an indoor shooting range
To perfect my aim in case fools want to make strange
More money,more problems,it's been said
But less money's more problematic so I'll opt for the former instead
Chillin',Heineken swillin',blazin' Cubans
In the shade by the pool, got steak barbequein'
Tuition paid for so my daughter can get her schoolin'
Hand the keys to my mom to her new house and get her movin'
As for my boo,she stayed loyal through the madness
I'd have her ridin' in an Escalade lookin' lavish
Sapphires drippin' off her like rain water
As a token of appreciation that I got her
'Till then,we battle on and plot to cop cream
The world can take all I got but it can't stop the dream
For real...
