New independent label Electropapknit Records are pleased to announce their first release, the debut EP by Deathpodal, entitled Exu__Wow. Exu__Wow was written, recorded and mixed by solo artist Deathpodal in various locations across Scotland, and features a number of musicians including members of Copy Haho and PVH. Bringing together post punk, DIY recording techniques, warm undulating melodies and a cacophony of instrumentation, Electropapknit Records are excited about this first release by Deathpodal, the moniker of musician Alastair J. Chivers. Alastair is a multi instrumentalist, having played guitar, synth, piano, metalwork, percussion, soo soo (a type of Indian flute), melodica, vocals, and samples on the Exu__Wow release. The EP was recorded as an art project, all the friends / musicians involved played on the release for free and it was recorded in various locations across Scotland (including the University of Glasgow, various flats and a church in Edinburgh, a portacabin in Stonehaven and also on the streets of Prague). This summer, Alastair will be touring an eagerly anticipated live band version of Deathpodal across Scotland and further afield, featuring the Exu__Wow release and new tracks. The EP will be available through various online retailers including iTunes and eMusic as well as CD digipak.
