Just another singer/songwriter. I play all my own instruments (except drums) and record on a Boss BR1200CD standalone multi-track recorder
Just an old Back To The Land hippie that stuck to his plan.

Story behind the song
just another tune on the dangers of addictions ;-)
Lyrics
This ain't a pretty story, ain't no happy song 'bout a boy named Jesse Lee, who didn't live too long Just when things was goin' right, ya know they all went wrong Jesse was gambler, he liked to throw the dice Borrowed lots of money, from guys that weren't so nice When Jesse couldn't pay up, ya know he paid the price instrumental break Louie was a friend of his, who called him on the phone Said "i can help ya Jesse Lee, if all ya need's a loan Meet me by the riverside...be sure to come alone" Sheriff dragged the river bed, pulled Jesse from his grave His momma she was cryin', for the boy she couldn't save Gamblin' was the master...and Jesse was the slave

Fine example of excellent songwriting and performance here. It doesn't take a thousand instruments to create a great song...It just takes a great song that reaches people. The guitar and guitar slide work is just the perfect vehicle for your great vocal performance in this ballad. "Gary Busey" said songwriting is the highest form of all of the arts. To deliver a story like a little movie within a written piece of music is a special kind of skill. Songwriters are unique and few and far between.

Think I heard this before mate you must've sent it to me sometime ago anyway I'm glad I found it again cos it's great, just you and the old resonator,I love that and the slide, along with your vocal delivery and Jessie's story it speaks to me in an authentic way,us Brits can't do it like you guys,if I tried something like this it would sound false, but it flows outta you like the ol' Genesee in summer.

Real catchy song here, LOVE that slide work Charlie !!
Sounds great...you and that old resonator. Nice guitar lick that carries through the song. Slide adds that ol' twang. Vocals a little in the rears, but nice effect. Per usual enjoy your (stuff) music!

Excellent song...Your voice is beautiful. Your Guitar work is magnificent. If you do not mind my saying so: Your music sounds so much like my Son's father, he passed away much too young. I really still love him. His name was Bob Moore. A great guy. I want to thank you so much for your kindness and ratings. So many people want someone to rate their songs, but, they do not even listen to the other person's music. May God Bless you and your family!!!!!!!!! Countess Lekzee

I agree with the others...it's tough to sound as good as you do without digital production. It's real...it's all artist talent...great job.

Nice song! I'm partial to blues style. Done with flare with a great sound. Pulled this off great with just voice and guitar. I have one with just piano and voice titled - Will You Marry Me. . .I was planning on implementing saxaphone, some bass but many have told me they like it the way it is. hehehe.... Nice to meet you and I will visit again to comment on more music of yours.
