No Regrets ~acoustic demo version~
A song co-written with the guitar player of my old band, "Flaming Impulse" which is now no longer existent.
I am a high school indie artist who also does VA work on the side. (VA=voice acting) I'm particularily into post-indie J-Pop and J-Rock bands like Ikimono-gakar
I'm an indie artist in the local Tri-Cities Area in British Columbia, Canada, and I am currently going into my second year of high school.
The only complete track that I have right now is my first single, "Keep It Up" which won in the top 10 finalists of the 2006 Songs That Make a Difference songwriting contest that was held by the School Alliance of Student Songwriters. I was the youngest winner at the time... XP
I'm currently working on my first album, "Random Thoughts" that includes both vocal tracks as well as instrumental tracks on the piano or on the flute.
Story behind the song
During the time we wrote this song, my friend/guitar player, Kevin, just broke up with his girlfriend at the time. He had a new quote that he wrote on his whiteboard: "Laugh your heart out. Dance in the rain. Cherish the moment. Ignore the pain. Live, laugh, love. Live, laugh, love. Live, laugh, love. Forgive and forget. Because life's too short to live in regret." Soon enough, this became the first verse.
Soon enough, these words became the first verse of the song we wrote a minute after he showed them to me. I couldn't fit it into the author box, but the second part of the song was written by me. The last two lines, "True love doesn't have a happy ending. Because true love never dies" was his old whiteboard quote, when he was still dating his girlfriend.
The sound was extracted from our demo video, which is on private on my YouTube account. Kevin plays guitar in this song because I didn't know how to finger pick at the time, and he was the one who thought of the melody before we even wrote the song. x.x;;;
We recorded this BEFORE I bought a decent microphone.
