I am a high school indie artist who also does VA work on the side. (VA=voice acting) I'm particularily into post-indie J-Pop and J-Rock bands like Ikimono-gakar
I'm an indie artist in the local Tri-Cities Area in British Columbia, Canada, and I am currently going into my second year of high school. The only complete track that I have right now is my first single, "Keep It Up" which won in the top 10 finalists of the 2006 Songs That Make a Difference songwriting contest that was held by the School Alliance of Student Songwriters. I was the youngest winner at the time... XP I'm currently working on my first album, "Random Thoughts" that includes both vocal tracks as well as instrumental tracks on the piano or on the flute.

Story behind the song
We were supposed to write a poem - the teacher let me write a free verse song - about ourselves through the eyes of our mirrors. (This was for a Creative Writing class) The teacher requested a recording of the song as well, so I recorded this and gave her a copy. She was surprised to see how much I've improved since grade 9. ^v^;;;;
Lyrics
See her black eyes sparkle in the moonlight Watch her mouth open wide as she tries to sing Follow her fingers as they fly across those Steel strings Watch her smile At my reflective surface *I see what nobody's ever imagined in her A shining heart and a shadow at the back Of her mind When will she get to fly away? See her smile and contented eyes Not too long ago she was crying her eyes out She couldn't bear to face the truth shown blankly on My face But now she's smiling at At my reflective surface (repeat *) See her swim in her own tears Well now she's dry Keep looking up To find what you're looking for I see what nobody's ever imagined in her... (repeat *) Away? Away?
