The lyrics are the first lines of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas by Hunter S. Thompson
Artist picture
Jaded. Realistic. Given up on teenage dreams. Been there, done that. Lyrics coming from the distorted echoes of a dull life. Salvation from home recording. A sly wit and the intoxication of irony.

Story behind the song
This was actually a college project, but at the time I didn't have the means to record it properly, so I used a Casio keyboard and recorded one part on a tape, then had that blasting out of a stereo while I played the guitar and sang the lead vocal, and captured it all on another tape recorder. It sucked, but I liked the harmony, so I did a new version once I had the wonder of Cubase and a decent soundcard.
Lyrics
We were somewhere around Barstow, On the edge of the desert, When the drugs began to take hold. I remember syaing something, Like "I feel a bit light-headed, Maybe you should drive."
