This was a homework exercise. We had to create any type of music using only MIDI and virtual instruments in Pro Tools.
I'm just getting started with songwriting. Been playing guitar for many years on and off, almostl exclusively covers.
Story behind the song
I always wanted to try to get a realistic orchestral sound out of Pro Tools and Xpand. I'm not a composer, So I found some arrangement ideas and got inspiration from the soundtrack of Lord of the Rings and came up with this.
The homework required we use MIDI/Aux track pairs. My project
has 6 MIDI/Aux track pairs. Each Aux track has Xpand inserted. The tracks are: Drums (+10 Thunder Drums), Horns Low (+32WoodwindOrchestra), Horns High (+30 Trom+FHrn+Trum), Stings Low (+13 Spiccato Up+Down), Stings High (+05 Legato+Tremolo), and Voices (+31 Huge Choir). The Voices track comes in at the end to create the weird synth sounding swell.
