Another uplifting song, the last on the album. It's mainly guitars and a good ol' sax song and quite a few harmonies.

My band is "me" with more than a little help from my lyricist, Tony Shears, on the songwriting front. Our songs might not be typical of today's market but neither are they antiquated, hence the Adult Contemporary title. This particular album "Remnants Of A Cavernous Boot" is a reference to our seventies band "Cavernous Boot" which consisted of Tony and myself along with the world's best guitarist Dave Draper and our seriously deranged drummer Steve Allen who tried vainly to keep us in line with his beat. We mainly played the North London pubs and clubs at the time and had as much work as we wanted, so we couldn't have been that bad. Most tracks on this album are new songs that we wrote last year, some are melody written for lyric, some are lyric put to a melody and a couple are re-writes of our original songs being performed 40 years ago. It's a very mixed bag which I hope you'll find as enjoyable to listen to as it was to record.

Story behind the song
"Song of Life", which is the last track on this album, is a straightforward reference back to Cavernous Boot and the different directions taken by its members over the years. I guess the message is that pleasure can be attained by rediscovering, renewing and then maintaining past friendships.
Lyrics
There was a time we seemed together every day Our love of music just the same But then for each of us we found a separate way It had to be but still a shame So we write the song of life, verses, chorus, but the ending, only time will tell When you feel it?s going well then you should sing that song of life We often wondered where each other?s paths had led What twists and turns had changed our ways So many different things we must have seen and read Our music surely out of phase We don?t have the trousers with flares, we don?t have the platform shoes We don?t have the blow-dried long hair, nor would we choose But now we?re coming back together once again And catching up it?s been so long We?ll learn each other?s highs of pleasure, lows of pain What we?ve done right, what we?ve done wrong
