This song was a Kelvin fan favorite over the years and this particular recording was done in 2002 when Curt Harrington was in the band as a rhythm guitarist. A melodic song throughout with an upbeat chorus, highly influenced by Tom Petty.

Story behind the song
The story behind this song, if I'm not mistaken, came about from Jay driving around spending time with a good friend (which friend was also the one who gave me (D Wood) my first electric guitar, the red Peavey Predator).
Lyrics
Lyrics: [by Jay Melder] I took a ride yesterday with an old friend and a new game plan And I cursed love as she spoke of immortality With a cigarette in her hand And we drove around this old town she just said, "Hey Jay entertain me" So I kept driving and she kept singing "Sha la la is this the way it's supposed to be?" So I gave her my last pack and laughed a little more just to spite her Hey girl, do you need a match? No thanks, I've got a lighter I've got a lighter yeah yeah yeah [Chorus] When you tell me someone is bringing you down Cause some other somebody is wearing your crown Well, hey girl it ain't your heart that needs the cleaning All you need is someone who will keep you singing So I picked up the phone that night And I talked to an old friend with the same old plan And I cursed love as she spoke of her loneliness in a stranger's hands And we talked all night long she just said, "Hey Jay entertain me" So I kept rambling and she kept crying "Sha la la is this the way it's supposed to be?" So I gave her some advice and laughed a little more just to spite her She said, "Jay do you need anything else?" I said No thanks, cause I've got a lighter I've got a lighter yeah yeah yeah [Chorus] When you tell me someone is bringing you down Cause some other somebody is wearing your crown Well hey girl it ain't no mystery who's drug you're fiending All you need you is someone to keep you singing Keep you singing, we broke it down to her like this So I went to sleep And I dreamed of a beautiful girl and a new game plan And I promoted love but she spoke of her happiness in arms of a slightly over weight, long haired, shaggy faced man And I dreamed all morning long And she just said, "Hey Jay entertain me" So I kept dreaming and she kept dancing "Sha la la yeah this is how it's gonna be" When all of a sudden I started to rub my eyes then yawned a little more just to spite her She said "Jay when you dream, dream of me" I said OK cause I've got a lighter I've got a lighter yeah yeah yeah [Chorus] When you tell me someone is bringing you down Cause some other somebody is wearing your crown Well hey girl it ain't no mystery who's drug you're fiending All you need you is someone to keep you singing This is this is what I told her Drive away, drive away, drive away and don't look back Run away, run away, run away her bags are all packed Come on back, come on back you done with your crying Crawl on back, crawl on back you're wasting your time Wasting your time, wasting your time
