Story behind the song
This song is written to God because He is my One and Only Everlasting Love and the King of my heart. When I'm feeling down and/or lonely, His love is there to reach out to me. He lifts me out of the dark - I might still feel the same, but I know He is there with me always. The verse expands on this idea with more details on feeling down but even when those feelings overwhelm me, I know that God loves me, is there for me, and He is to be praised in all things. I owe my life to Him, for He is my Saviour from sin and eternal death and also my Saviour from pre-His-plans earthly death.
