weird time signature and harmony guitars - run away!
Jaded. Realistic. Given up on teenage dreams. Been there, done that. Lyrics coming from the distorted echoes of a dull life. Salvation from home recording. A sly wit and the intoxication of irony.
Story behind the song
This was originally done for my band, Ego Breed in about 1995. We played it live a few times, but this version is just me and my PC. The title is a rubbish pun on 'Solitude', in fact, the lyrics are pretty bizarre.
Lyrics
Solitude, eternal.
Bubbles through the latticework.
Floral shield is useless,
Only filters out the dark.
What can a single person know,
To change the way our feelings go?
I was the one who sold it back to you,
I was the one who sold,
You really turn me on, to myself.
You really turn me on, to myself.
If I had a purpose,
I would be a sowing machine (sic),
I'd sow doubts in your mind,
To keep your high pretensions clean.
Your head is empty as the sky,
If you won't use it why can't I?
I was the one who sold it back to you,
I was the one who sold,
You really turn me on, to myself.
You really turn me on, to myself.
You really turn me on, to myself.
You really turn me on, to myself.
