Story behind the song
Another week screams by. Good lord. Well here's the third offering: 15 Minutes. Self-explanitory song, really - all about the wonderful notion that everybody is special and deserves fame/money/whatever without having to put in any effort or have any discernable talent. The 'something for nothing' generation, that's what the 90s produced. Well done, everyone! We've made so much stuff disposable. A reality contest winner has one hit, one mediocre album of covers, quick easy money then out. Then the next contest starts. People will tire of it eventually, right? Same with all the media hyped bands. The headlines and buzz seems to vanish after the initial impact. Mind you, the 90s did make it possible for the likes of me to put out their songs in the vain hope that people might hear them and get something out of them. Hey ho, evil can only exist alongside the good. This song is also one that we (the Woods) played around with quite a bit. It didn't really get there, although it was good in parts, and every once in a while it popped into my head. I always meant to get around to recording a version of it, so here it is!
