Dark, smoky, beer-soaked rooms with sweat and breath and rage and love pulsing through everyone there, screaming their lungs out and pushing my songs forward as
Hey, I'm Neil. This is going to be really simple. I want to pack a room (any size) with people who want to jump and sweat and swoon and laugh and cry and scream and fall in love with the sound of a dream. I want to take music back to just getting friends together, having some drinks and putting their hearts out in the open for everyone to see.

Story behind the song
I watched the documentary about the life and times of Shane MacGowan. It was done by the BBC (I think) and is called "The Great Hunger". In it, Bono said that Shane MacGowan is what Keith Richards would call "a specialist". I agreed. And wrote this.
Lyrics
Singing old songs to himself He left his memories on the shelf and lived through someone else's nightmare. Listening softly to the wind he found a story that begins a moment after his departure. Let me, let me down slowly I'm too old to take a crash. Put this through your records and, by god, you'll have a match. Just be yourself, but in the face of all these souls I wanted to tell you but the story... The story has been told. Floating gently on the breeze with soaring birds and dying dreams are stacks of paper in the corner. Everything is over there, the thoughts I thought but only shared with peasants mightier than me.
