It is for listeners to decide how they would describe my music when they have a chance to hear a range of material. I've only just started recording. Keep watc
I played bass in a band at Walbottle school, the T-set, with Dave Robinson from Throckley, Bri Swanson, Lemington, and Ken Wright, also Throckley, and started writing songs at this stage. I continued for a while in Dobbin with Bri and Ian Shield, also of Lemington, doing vocals and bits and pieces under Bri's direction - and did more writing. We also did a couple of them together. I then spent a few years concentrating on work and family, with some more writing in fairly recent times, until the lure of performing again (since 2005) became too much to resist! The songwriting had to go on hold for a while as I continued to work full-time until Oct 2010 whenever possible but I have written a few new songs over the last couple of years such as 'Butterflies'. See more details below and check for regular updates.

Story behind the song
Been a long time coming Played all 4 guitar parts, 2 of them on bass (G 9,11 for those who wish to play along with the riff) This riff and the main harmony line written during recording process to complete original song written 1998/99. A first on guitar for me. Usually stick to bass! Also did all vocal parts. Too much emotion to be happy with lead. That's my excuse! Drums and strings by Soundroom engineers. The Beatles' 'Help' is the first song I remember with a 2 part melody, which has inspired me to write in this style. (Also have First Kiss, still to come). The main style is inspired by Morrissey and the bass riff by Abba.
Lyrics
intro Won't you heal me Dr. Time x 2 to harmony melody Does it have to be a crime To be together for some time? Yes, and live life to the full, Oh, it is such precious time. But then the colour drains away and my life returns to black and white, Sometimes the memories fade away - but I know they will return tonight To haunt me once again and leave me shivering inside Oh, I miss you oh so much Won't you heal me Dr. Time? Was it a crime to fall in love? x2 Was it a crime to fall in love with you? Have things really got so bad (with harmony) That you think I'm going mad? I don't want us to be sad When I'm with you, we're just fine repeat chorus instrumental repeat chorus end game with 2nd part melody (as intro) throughout to Will you remain the forbidden fruit of my life?
