Story behind the song
Evil is constructed of lies. Goodness is made out of love. Satan leaves my side after 63 years of sin on my part. It is too late for me, but I WILL be instrumental in the destruction of my captor, a scumbag known as the Devil, for I know him better than anyone. Any competition on this???
Lyrics
I I knew I could not lose it all, Or miss that warning sound. I'd act in time, before the fall, But now, I'm bottom bound. II In the wrong--immersed in sin. Too late to set things right, For now it all comes back again As daytime yields to night. (Now I'm) C Singing myself back to health. A long and bumpy ride. If I never make it home, At least you know I tried. III What hurt the most--I wasn't missed. Nobody cared to see. And centuries since I'd been kissed. The world was through with me. (But I'm) Chorus B Could I find the pathway I traveled once before? Everytime I'd turn to see, I'd find a closing door. Break IV We get no slack when frail of mind. Must function just the same. My world was spinning far behind. I couldn't feel the flame. V Don't think I'll see the light of day, But if I ever do, Won't let pride get in the way. I'll make it up to you. (And I'm) Chorus x 2 Saturday May 16, 2009
