Acoustic rock and folk rock with country, blues, and American Songbook influences.
Formerly "Dr. C and the Stratocats," I'm now on a solo career as "Dr. C," but I had to change my stage name here because someone else had already claimed it. My music strives for melody above all else; I strive to make my songs memorable, so you can whistle a tune immediately. I see melody as the element most lacking in contemporaryr music. I love Sinatra and the Beatles, Gordon Lightfoot, Paul Simon, anyone who can write a memorable "tune."

Story behind the song
For a winter solstice ceremony in Mendocino, CA, I was asked to write a song to call in the South on the medicine wheel, so I did.
Lyrics
Call to the South I call to the South to the land of fertility I call to the South to the land of the sun I call to the South to the Amazon basin I call to the South where the rivers are warm I call to the South to the land of our origins I call to the South to the tribes of our past I call to the South on the plains of East Africa I call to the South where the desert is vast Come and inspire us Come and require us to be more truly ourselves than before to be reborn on the sun’s farthest shore I call to the South to the land of nativity I call to the South to the land of the green I call to the South out of northern captivity I call to the South and the lands in between I call to the South to all species unclassified So varied and various, insect and bird I call to the South for rare flowers to clothe the bride Preparing her way by the truth of the word Come and inspire us Come and require us to be more truly ourselves than before to be reborn on the sun’s farthest shore
