Story behind the song
A few years back I was playing guitar as a member of a church praise team and we used to do a song named "For the Lord is Good". We played that particular song in a worship setting at a moderate pace, but I always felt the song had the potential to be much bolder and more aggressive musically. When I decided to try to my hand at writing a Christian song, I had in mind to create a bold evangelistic rock song. "How Awesome is Your Name" was what I came up with. This is the first Christian song I ever wrote, and the second song I ever wrote.
