Stylistically, MMB is reminiscent of 70s & 80s flavored, prog-rock. But while influenced by groups such as Pink Floyd, Yes, Deep Purple, Kansas, ELP, and Styx, MMB music is undeniably unique. It features bold chord progressions alongside instrumentation that ranges from artfully tasteful to technically brilliant ... but puts intricate melodies and vocal harmonies front and center. Story behind the song
This is the seventh song of the album "Perfect World", released in December 2009. For more info see www.matsonmusicbox.com. The album is a story, with each song a chapter. This chapter and song is the title track for the album and represents th turning point in the story. It deals with "redemption" for our protagonist on two levels ... one, in finding that the "perfect girl" he's looking for may already be standing right in front of him, but on a deeper level, coming out from the depths of despair, remembering who he is, deciding to live again, opting not to fall into dark paths, and generally deciding to move forward with life. Hope you enjoy. KenM
