Lyrics
You broke the first, then you made a second promise Another ring... another lie. You said that you would never leave me but you had a fondness for secrets and alibis. And this black winter sky seems as empty as my soul Just an endless stretch of midnight and the moon's gentle glow. I look up and pray that morning's coming soon and wish upon the moon. I wish that love wouldn't disappear like a shadow does at noon I wish that feelings wouldn't fade like smoke and old perfume. If I could wish upon a star I'd wish that love were true But the stars aren't shining So I wish upon the moon. Hope comes to ransom pain and sorrow All the questions finally end. After putting off living each day until tomorrow now the healing can begin. And the stars all come out on this still summer night They dance in the darkness and leave with the light. But they all seem too distant to make my dreams come true.. So I wish upon the moon. I wish that love wouldn't disappear like a shadow does at noon. I wish that feelings wouldn't fade like smoke and old perfume. But every day's a second chance and morning's coming soon.... So I wish upon the moon. I wish upon the moon.
