oldschool oldskool old sc
Oldschool techno beats. I've been told it sounds like NES music, which I certainly think is a good thing.
[ 2 6 - 7 6 ] can best be described as simple techno, or perhaps simple electronica. I have always been a fan of very basic techno, such as the simplistic looping tracks of the Mega Man and Metroid video games, and pushed the style in that direction. With the exception of my first piece, the songs were created entirely using 's built in synthesizers and filters. The resulting style is unadorned and reminiscent of earlier video game soundtracks. I've tried hard to give each song a distinctive mood and feel. While I am personally a fan of darker techno, my work tends to be more upbeat and energetic. Each piece has darker passages to it, but there is always a light at the end of the tunnel in a manner of speaking.

Story behind the song
VARIABLE E has always been one of my personal favorites. There is something vaguely Arabic about the phrasing of the bridge that adds to the piece's mystery and uniqueness. The buzzing energy of the central phrase combined with the driving beat creates the exact energy I set out to capture with my music. The on again - off again percussion throughout the piece and the slower central passage work to provide aural breaks; allowing the central phrase to return with renewed vigor. Both this piece and Erstwhile... share a similar upbeat mood tinged with the frantic importance of something hinted at yet just beyond perception.
