This Soundclick page is used for posting rough mixes, outtakes and other projects un-related to my current band, Artists of War. I have played guitar since I was 14 years-old and have gone through a slew of influences. The most predominant has been Black Sabbath. My current fetish has been progressive metal ala Tool and Mastodon. Some might call this "art metal," and I would agree with that moniker as well. I consider what I do to be more akin to art than performance music. During my third year of college, I decided to officially release my work as a physical CD. "Artists of War" was the result of this. The album was released on March 25 via Tricalibur Records through CDBaby. You can visit my website, , for the most recent band news. The CD is available from , direct from me via the band website, or search for it in iTunes, Amazon and other online retailers.

Story behind the song
The Matamp is still out of commission so this had to be recorded using my Marashall MG100 with my New D*A*M Meathead Dark and trusty ole' Sonic Titan. Mic'd with an SM57 on the center cone of the lower 15 of my Emperor 2x15 loaded with Eminence Big Ben's. I was having a lot of issues with relationships and life changes when I wrote this so the lyrics turned out quite dark and dismal. It narrates the life of a man who is diagnosed as a carrier of an incurable disease which threatens to wipe out mankind if it is not contained. He is taken away from his loved ones and imprisoned on an island against his will. Isolated and alone, he spends his days thinking of his past life and those he left behind. He longs for freedom and human interaction, which he is also deprived of. Soon, out of desperation, he creates his own religion. A system of faiths revolved entirely around himself as God with the inhabitants of his mind as its only followers. Through his meditation he comes to the conclusion that, in fact, his isolation from society is a blessing, not a curse. He reasons this because he feels like the monotonous conformity of life amongst society was like being crucified every day. Finally, alone in his cell, he dreams one last dream of a garden in which he is surrounded by the few people in his life who were good to him. Materialized as flowers, they welcome him into black light as the ultimate realization of humanity's corruption confirms itself.

Carrier By Brad Olsen Stripped my rights Probed my body Through those veins My disease They dont know what I can see now If only they knew Darkness lived through I just want to see her again Burn - My - Flesh Blood Virus Walk into the forest Walk into the forest now Walk into the forest Walk into the forest go~~ Conscience grows See my woes Point and run Isolation Boiling from beneath my skin now Pathogen Born within Can't escape This prison state Burn - My - Flesh Blood Virus Turned to hybrid faith Blessed little ones New cure at this rate... No more hiding in ruin Heavens painted in blood Hated by everyone Am I just one of those things? Just an obedient sheep? Scourge of the Earth! Blood Virus Trapped behind these walls I pray For a life thats been Corruption within has kept me From my crucifixion Realize the lies trapped ten feet Under a dead bog Cameras peering in detect me Keep me paralyzed Welcome me a garden away From these human flowers Black light all around gets high Humanity's soured
