Larry Lauer
I've been dabbling in songwriting for about 25 years, ever since I started playing in a band. In the past few years I've gotten a little more serious about it and I enjoy the the idea of creating something from my experiences. Whether personal or from an external source, I like to see my thoughts go from paper to a recorded product. I've been having a lot of fun trying to produce my own music. I'm not into performing my own music so much anymore, but I would like to see it get out there for others to hear.
Lyrics
Verse 1
How do you take, the sun from the sky?
How do you wipe, the tears from her eyes?
How do you touch, her through that radio dial?
How do you write her songs, that’ll make her smile?
Chorus
Well you tear ‘em from your heart, one verse at a time
You pull ‘em from the bottom, of your soul then make’em rhyme
You make it so they bleed you dry, every single night
And if that’s not enough, well you stay up ‘til first light
Then you dig that knife deep, twist until your sore
Gather up your memories, that’re scattered on the floor
Then put it all on paper, and hope for a chance
One verse at a time, you’ll find that romance
Lead Break
Verse 2
Can you show her that you love her, when she can’t see your face?
Can you tell her in your heart, there’s an empty space?
Can you sing her a song, in the middle of the night?
Can you write her all those songs, with all your love and might?
Yes, you can…
