Story behind the song
This song is about when things are going way too fast. There is a feeling that you are running on train tracks and you have to keep going before the train catches up to you. It's also about realizing that you can just step off the train tracks... let it fly by, and stop believing that you have to worry or catch up.
Lyrics
running down that railroad now
i don't see headlights to a train, keep hurrying down
cause when it comes
cause when it comes, when it comes it will be faster than your step
they say it's like a flash of light
and your life gets left behind and you just fly
but only if you stay behind this freight train
and when it comes it will be faster than your death
and i hear the chugging chomp and roll like thunderbolts that hold steal wheels together,
i had better run
just hurry up, just hurry up, just hurry up.
i'm running down that stairwell now
i don't see headlights to a train keep hurrying down
you're there waiting
and i like you, i like you, i like you
there's no time to talk now
so just kiss my mouth...
and when you do it will be faster than my breath
and i hear the smacking lick and roll like thunder bolts that hold steal wheels together
i had better run
just hurry up, just hurry up, just hurry up.. just show me love, just hurry up, just hurry up.
there is no heaven, except in loving, right now, right now
wish it would slow down
and unload the weight in each freight
i've got to traain myself to slow down and walk slow
down another road
there is enough time
there is enough time
and i started to unwind
and it started to fly by
but i'm alright, but i'm alright
because i choose where my steps will lie.
And if it comes it will be faster than your step.
