I have been mixing sounds for about a year and a half now. Though, I am still not very good, I admit... However, I am here to share something that I love and perhaps maybe take your ears and your mind on a journey to someplace they've never been. I am also on MySpace Music. Feel free to add me! http://www.myspace.com/transcendentalmusic

Story behind the song
Albatross - (8:20) Story with (musical notes): 0:00 - 2:00 minutes The old sailor wishes to be free like the mythical albatross. He sails and sails but never has a feeling that he is completely free. (This theme is denoted by the piano riff and the jazz-like trap set.) 2:01 - 2:49 minutes The skies darken while he is still at sea. All of a sudden, he sees two of these mythical birds. One on his starboard and one on his port side. He is overjoyed at the grace and power these avians have! However... They warn him that this is an incredibly bad storm in which he is about to face. (The albatross themes are denoted by a wild “mythical piano” in both the right and left side that switch places. Listen for it! The percussion intensifies to denote the increase in danger.) 2:50 - 4:00 minutes The sailor continues to press forward despite the worsening conditions. He thinks that maybe this is his route to freedom. The albatross continue to harken, guide and warn the old timer of the danger, until he looks up and notices them hovering beside him as if these were his guardian angels. (The sailor’s theme is present and the percussion gets into a groove to denote the worsening weather. Once again, the albatross is keyed by wild pianos alternating on both the left and right side.) 4:00 - 5:00 minutes The albatross are in full flight and about to guide the old man through the storm. He is awestruck by their grace... but is rudely interrupted by the storm. (The sailor’s realization of the albatross grace is denoted by the isolation of the alternating piano. His theme is present again in the background, as to show his reverence to them.) 5:01 - 7:33 minutes The storm hits and all three (The sailor, and the two albatross) are thrown about in a chaotic whirlwind of danger. Each is mashed and battered and lost within the ravaging winds and sweltering seas. It seems as if it’s an eternity... but the albatross is a sign of good luck, after all... and all of a sudden, the storm begins to subside... (All three themes plus a pounding percussion all are melted together and “lost” within each other... but listen carefully, they are all there. The storm is a huge part of this story so it lasts for quite a while. But the albatross never leave the sailor’s side... as to which their theme is constantly thrown about.) 7:34 - 8:20 minutes The storm has passed and all three make it alive. From this, the albatross inspire the man to discover that the freedom he was seeking through them, was within him the entire time. His freedom was his life and experiences upon the sea. From sunrise to moonrise, to the setting of the sun and the departure of the moon... He has been free this entire time. The majesty and spirit of the albatross was always within him. Those two legendary albatross from his right and left side... (The albatross theme is now centrally sound on the headphones. The loud empowered piano is a sign that the sailor has discovered that freedom was in him. He is now filled with pride. And that the spirit of the mythical albatross is always within him. I used a stereo edit... Starting from the left headphone, to the center, to the right headphone, to the center, to the left, to the center, to the right... etc. to pay homage to the albatross and the sailor. Then last piano riff sounds loud and proud to show that the three are now one and central within the sailor’s soul. End.
