Story behind the song

This song requires explanation. John and I used to play at various coffee houses quite frequently, sometimes to good crowds, sometimes to one or two people all night usually 3 hrs at a time. On one evening we bsically had one guy with a laptop sit th...ere for the whole 3 hrs, while some people would come in stay a while and leave. After about 2 1/2 hours this guy asks us, You guys have played a lot of songs, I have never heard any of them, do you write them yourselves? We answer yes we do. He said how do you come up with so many songs? Not sure which one of us said it, but one of said we just kind Pull em out of our ass. At which point we decide this sounds like a cool song title and write it on the spot. We at one time considered getting a plastic donkey with a hole cut in its ass to put slips of paper in it that would have song titles on them, we would then invite people to "pull songs out of our ass" whatever the pulled out we would play, some slips would also say "Free Cd" and other would say "pull a song out of your ass" at which point they would make up a title that we would write on the spot. Something John is quite good at. Too bad it never happend
