Lonnie Dunn, Singer Songwriter
Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Lonnie Milton Dunn. I was born into a musical family and was singing in church at the age of four. I learned to play the mandolin and guitar at an early age. I love to sing and play a lot of different styles of music. I started playing in clubs when I was a teenager, then later started working in construction and became a blaster. That’s my “real job” - blowing up rock. I have made a little money from music, but money’s not the real issue. It’s the crave of it, because of the love of it! I have another love in my life. First God, then family - my wife and two sons. I love them very much. They were a big part of the reason for me finding a manager down on Music Row in Nashville a few years back. I thought it would really help me break into the music business. I don’t have that manager anymore, but I did meet some of Nashville’s top songwriters. I got to write with them and sing a few demos. I even got to sing on Music City Tonight with Crook and Chase. I played a while in clubs after that, but then felt like I needed to dedicate more time to God and my family, so I put my music career on hold for a while. But as they say, “When music is in your blood, you can’t stay away.” So I am back to give it another try. I believe that God gave me a talent for music and I’m ready to share it with the world!

Lyrics
TWO DAY’S FOR ONE VERSE 1: Well, picking up trash on the side of the road for the county With the sheriff department on my back I know that I could run if I wanted But they’d catch up with me and bring me back I’m just gonna look at the bright side Cause this is the way my time should be done They gave me ninety days in jail, man alive But this way I’m gettin’ two days for one CHORUS: My first day in jail was two days of hell Then they let me out to work by the point of a gun I’ve leaned my lesson well, so good bye county jail And I thank God for two days for one VERSE 2: Well, ever now and then I see the girl I’m missing When they let me out to work by the point of a gun But it won’t be long till we’ll be a huggin’ and a kissin’ I wanna do my time as quick as I can Well, it’s just about time for another bag of tatter chips That’s all I get to eat after all this fun But I can’t hardly wait to taste her sweet sweet lips And I thank God for two days for one CHORUS: My first day in jail was two days of hell Then they let me out to work by the point of a gun But I’ve leaned my lesson well, so good bye county jail And I thank God for two days for one TAG: Yeah, I thank God for two days for one Lyrics & Music by: Ted Day and Lonnie Dunn
