The Sound Ghost collective is a community of musicians, artists, sound engineers, film-makers and various other creative individuals who all share a love of independent music. The group exists as a supportive network, helping artists with much talent, but limited resources to still be able to pursue their dreams and meet their creative goals. This objective is accomplished by pooling our resources, lending our ears and ideas, and connecting people who share a common artistic vision. We?re not exactly a record label, but we do for independent artists some of the same things a record label would do. We provide access to a recording studio, help with artistic development, and connections to people who provide other creative services such as artwork, web design, production, and promotion. As a group, we regularly get together to work on projects at least once a week. We provide each other with feedback on new material, and help to hold each other accountable in areas of artistic integrity, quality, and meeting the deadlines we set for ourselves. We believe that every person has inside of them the ability to be creative, and that many have the potential for greatness. This creativity is worth cultivating, capturing and encouraging, even if it falls outside of the narrow classifications that the modern recording industry has created to turn art into a product. We are not against being successful, we simply want to go about it the right way. Even if it takes longer, even if it?s more expensive, and even if it lacks mass-market appeal, we will put our very best into the projects we believe in. The main difference between a collective like ours and a label is that with a collective, you are still completely independent. We are here to help you succeed as an independent artist, not to tie you down to an exclusive obligation or try to take your publishing rights. We won?t do everything for you. Hard work, dedication and self motivation are absolutely essential for every artist. However, we will do everything within our power to help each other, and that?s the greatest thing about a collective: everyone involved becomes part of our family. Every member of that family is willing to give everything they have to help everyone else: their time, their talents, lending of their equipment, and sharing of whatever profits they end up making as a result of another member?s generosity. Basically, we are investing in each other?s future: proving with our actions that we believe in each other as artists and as friends. Sound Ghost is a tight-knit, fully functioning artistic community. It is a collective designed not to create rock stars with huge egos, but to prepare artists to be involved in their community, to give back to their friends, and to promote the success of everyone involved.
