You mean Demond's Bio, right? O.K., Music has been such a part of my life that I literally started singing even before I could talk. Don't believe me? Ask my mother, she'll tell you and she's always been opposed to me playing music. I was three years old and knew all the lyrics to The Spinners "Games People Play". As a teen, I taught myself how to play guitar and synthesizer in order to make the unique and unusual songs that I had been writing in my head for years before come to life. For many more years, I tried unsuccessfully to find like-minded musicians in RI who, like myself, wanted to create new and exciting styles of music from scratch. Instead, I only kept running into people who either wanted to sound exactly like whatever big grunge or alternative band was around at the time or copy their favorite bands and players note for note. So instead of settling for the status quo, I learned how to work a sequencer so I could completely build the songs I wrote. No more searching for other musicians now; as long as I'm in RI, I will be doing my own songs on my own. Now that I'm fast approaching 50 and that I'm clearly not in touch with the mainstream, American Idol, nu-rap, nu-country and Beyonce dominated music scene, I've decided to just stick to what I've always been into and throw it all in a blender. I am evolving musically but I'm following my own path at the same time.

Lyrics
The Culture Verse 1 Rollin’ down the highway Back home to “da ‘hood” Yeah, you just got out of prison And you’re feelin’ good First you’ll see your mama Then you’ll see your son Hope that boy don’t end up like you Livin’ by the gun But the gangsta rapper, yeah Says follow the rules Says that being smart is for Whites And school is for fools Goin’ for the fast cash Caught with 50 grams You became a grim statistic Black man in the slam Chorus When you’re livin’ for the culture Then you’re feedin’ like a vulture And when the shooting starts Will you die? Will you be dyin’ for the culture Verse 2 In the club with your friends Time to celebrate Drinkin’, hittin’ on the ladies Night was goin’ great Then some guy you don’t know Steps right on your toes You push him and he pushes you Then you’re nose to nose And the gangsta rapper, yeah Says to shoot him dead Says put one bullet in his chest And one in his head Now you’re in your parked car Pistol in your lap ‘Bout to be a grim statistic Black man bust a cap Chorus When you’re livin’ for the culture Then you’re feedin’ like a vulture And when the shooting starts Will you die? Will you be dyin’ for the culture Bridge Did you know that the man was a college grad? Did you know that the man was a baby’s dad? Did you know that he had a brother that’s in a gang? And he knows where you live and he’s comin’ after you Verse 3 Feel the penetration Feel the burnin’ lead Seven bullets deep inside you T-shirt turnin’ red Technicolor nightmare, yeah For your final breath Just another grim statistic Black man shot to death Chorus When you’re livin’ for the culture Then you’re feedin’ like a vulture And when the shooting starts Will you die? Will you be dyin’ for the culture
