ASIA LAKAY GRADY BIO Asia Lakay Grady comes from a family of Professional Musicians, Revolutionary Pioneers, and Creative Entrepreneurs. Her Live PA act includes vocals and is described by fans as soul-stirring, crowd-rocking, and jaw-dropping. As an avid fan of a multitude of genres ranging from gospel and reggae, to jazz, hip hop, electronica, and soul, she brings a love and an originality to her collaborations and solo-productions that respects the classics and brings something new. She was born and raised in Dorchester, Roxbury, and Lynn, Massachusetts, and currently resides in Denver, Colorado. Starting out singing in the church and the school yard, then later in musicals in her hometowns, in her teens, she developed a love for electronic music, poetry and spoken word which resulted in her first press mention in the arts section of the Boston Globe at the age of 19. After winning a System-5 scholarship to Berklee College of Music, she began collaborating on stage and in the studio with a range of musicians, both locally, and internationally. By the time she completed high school and was mid-way through college, she set a goal of learning how to produce audio independently. This goal quickly turned into a life-changing obsession. Today, she divides her time between creating audio, performing live, attending local shows, building her digital photography portfolio, doing web design for local businesses, and engaging in social media making new friends and fans, while learning how to master the business side of music. Since living in Colorado, she has started to make a name for herself, not only because of her musical abilities, but by maintaining an open-mind and being available to collaborate with hip hop, electronic, reggae and rock artists locally and internationally via the web. Sometimes shy and reserved, she is known as a hard worker and when in front of an audience, all reservations melt away and she gives it 100 percent making new fans at each venue where she is blessed to perform.
