Story behind the song
maybe this song was a little late to the table... but i'm sure i wasn't the only one bothered by events transpiring in 2003... this war is especially sticky, because although it is "good" to see the removal of a brutal leader like saddam - at what cost? 19 000 dead, plus the lives of countless american soldiers... the original motivation for entering iraq seems unfounded, and it seems the US (and others) pushed their way in despite the descisions of the UN overall. private agendas, and financial interests seem to be the real motivators. i want to stress this song is not ANTI-american, nor, anti-soldier/army etc (my heart truly goes out to the men and women in this difficult situation)... this song is an attack on the decision makers with too much power. maybe i listened to too much propagandhi when i was younger.
