track 01 on the album... begins with the same awkwardness that most of my albums begin with... stark, and empty.
acoustic folk drake hush
melodic acoustic hush folk
hey i'm abode, i'm 27 and write acoustic hush folk - inspired by the likes of 70's folk artists like nick drake, leonard cohen, simon and garfunkel, roy harper etc - with modern influences such as stina nordenstam, elliott smith, and air to name a few... thanks for listening it's much appreciated.

Story behind the song
the lyrics to this one pretty much came to me when walking to the train station each morning, and also during the train rides that followed.. i just found it weird, all of us crammed on this train, and no one saying a word and avoiding eye contact except.. it's like we're all going thru it (life) together but no one's relating. In the past i've generally started off albums with more awkward songs, and I feel this one follows suite.
Lyrics
wish i could just change things back to the way that they were, to something unpredictable .. yea unfamiliar. cuz everythings been figured now, broken in two, investigated, and calculated - delivered just for you. downtowns been feeling down the clouds have hung out for days sky sports it's coat of grey ... so the sun don't wanna play cattle cars (LRT???) roll into town, with everyone looking down - someone coughs and a newspaper shuffles and all the patrons frown.... and i feel like there's something wrong, i don't know what but i felt it all along, something in the way - we drift thru these days as time marches on. you see... i've been feeling numb now for quite a while... so walk me through this meadow for atleast another mile.... and finally breathe this air so i can feel alive there was always something about these "you and i" sunday drives... wheat passes slowly by, under fingertip...we sense this place as it slowly turns and shifts... foot fallen we negotiate the land, with palms out-turned to a place we can't possibly understand. and we're a part of this machine alright - we're the little wheels that spin, so the big wheels don't have to... and... we're the workers that slave day and night, with dirt under nail to remind us how we've failed... and... one would think we could stand side by side - united in our misalignment ... but... it never ends with the suspicious eyes and everyone's got claws (clause?) when backed into a corner.
