Lake Fork Verne and his banjo. Original country and Americana songs. Songs of yesteryear, growing up during the great depression 1930's and the way things are
Just me and my banjo...writing and singing about how things used to be long ago in the 30;s and 40's and how those experiences affect today. I started out wanting to get on record these stories and songs for my grandchildren; but after doing it for a while, others have expresses interest so we are recording and putting them out there.

Tree Trunk Clock Copyright by: Verne Garrison June 17, 2009- Valley Park Mo Banjo Tuned E, Key D, No Capo D E From a tiny pine seed in northern Scotland A D To a seedling growing in Hermann, Missouri E Then a Lake Fork grown pine tree A D And now a treasured clock on my wall A tree stump from plot number six, called Donner A thin slice with a few limbs formed its face A little glue and the numbers went on her Pretty clock carved from but tree waste Today it hangs on my office wall Here in Valley Park, Missouri Reminding me of many long days in past Falls Free now, from those days of hurry and worry Yes, that tiny pine seed from Scotland Became a seedling at Gwinners Hermann Nursery Then a Christmas tree grown on our Illinois land Now its trunk is a treasured clock here in Missouri Tag: a treasured clock in Valley Park, Missouri

NEAT CLOCK!! The tree lives on in your timepiece Verne!! Awesome! Another good story. Is there a larger photo of your clock? My husband would enjoy seeing it. He will be having some surgery in Dec so he is currently making himself a cane!! Said if he had to use one he might as well enjoy looking at it, lol! Thanks for stopping by my page and commenting on my poem The Nancy III. It always means alot to me to have your friendship. This summer has been so busy......I have not had the time for Soundclick like I would of liked.
