Story behind the song
there was this drunken farmer, a regular, bellowing out requests all night. bluewank doesn't take requests, not because they are stuffed up, which they are, but because everything they do is improvised and not repeatable. to pacify Rocky (the aforementioned farmer) they gave it a try. they made an attempt at 'cigarettes in the mud', a fan favorite from an old bootleg tape. this is a good example of what happens when they try to duplicate a previous improvisation. henry eventually gave up and read from a kids book that he swiped from smedley's grandkids backpack. you can hear Rocky complaining even in this soundboard recording. you can also hear henry unknowingly triggering the DEMO mode on his cheesy casio toward the end. a splendid time was had by all. we think.
