Another Cline/Willingham tune. This one moves to a different place, even for us!
The Pugtones have been a live band in the past and are now an internet entity composed of Mark Cline and Warren Willingham along with some very talented guests. We both enjoy writing and playing and have become good friends along with producing some of the best music I've ever been involved in. Diverse would be the word!
Story behind the song
Mark sends guitar and drum tracks along with a song title. I wrote the lyrics and vocal melody and added bass on this one. Bill Davies added the enchanting keys, flute and swell guitar. the inspiration of his addition to the song was the reason I changed to a "space" type theme. All the words were written to lead up to "Shades of Twilight". You had to be in my head to understand that. Now that's a place you don't want to be. Anyway, this is different than any one of us would have come up with individually. I love the end result of this collaboration. I hope you like it!
Lyrics
I SEE COLORS, I SEE COLORS BUT THEY NEVER STAY
ALWAYS CHANGING, A KALEIDOSCOPE OF NIGHT AND DAY
SHADES OF COLORS, ALWAYS CHANGING, ALWAYS TURNING TO NIGHT
YOU'RE THE COLOR, YOU'RE THE LIGHT IN MY LIFE
YOU'RE LIKE SHADES OF TWILIGHT, YOU'RE LIKE SHADES OF TWILIGHT
LIKE THE SUNSET, AS IT FADES IT BRINGS THE END OF DAY
RED HUES CHANGING INTO COLORS HAVING SHADES OF GREY
EVERY DAY I SEE SHADES OF SUNLIGHT, SHADES OF MOONLIGHT AND THEN THERE'S YOU
YOU'RE THE SHADES OF TWILIGHT, YOU'RE THE SHADES OF TWILIGHT.
