Uncultivated Rabbits (UR) is the first poetry spoken word organization at UC Irvine, originally founded in March of 2005 by John Nguyen, Caroline Chang, and Nam
Uncultivated Rabbits provides a space for poets, listeners, artists, soon-to-be artists and poets, MC, and the general passer-by to share, generate, and refine their skills of "spit" (the ability to rhyme or place words together that dictate your opinion about your surroundings, publicly) thus, generating a community.
At the University of California, Irvine (UCI), our Spring Quarter creative sessions are held on Mondays 4:00-5:00 PM @ the Cross-Cultural Center, Ring Room. It's beside the main entrance, the room with the huge glass windows, you can't miss it! =).
Most importantly, we host Open Mics EVERY FIRST MONDAY OF THE MONTH to showcase the talents of the student body. This includes, but not limited to, spoken word, poetry, music, singing, beat boxing, emceeing, and many other art forms.
